“The road of life twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same. Yet our lessons come from the journey, not the destination.”
- Are you grieving over the loss of a loved one, relationship or previous way of life?
- Do you find yourself unable “to get past” your loss and maybe you don’t know why?
- Did you know that there are stages of grief?
- Did you know that grief, loss, death or bereavement counselling can help you through the stages of grieving?
Every grief journey is as unique as the form, complexity and nature of the loss. When you experience a loss, you can become stuck in a painful place on the grieving journey.
Each individual and family has a unique way of coping with loss. Arlene’s approach to counselling recognizes this along with the fact that no one approach or method can work for everyone. That’s why she tailors specific strategies and techniques to suit a person’s unique circumstances and needs.
Arlene provides counselling support to adults, adolescents and children who are facing grief related to the following:
- Loss of a close family member, friend or significant other
- Pregnancy loss or fertility issues
- Loss of health due to chronic illness
- Death of a pet
- Divorce or separation
- Mid-life transitions
The ability to heal, both emotionally and physically, is a part of everyone’s essential nature. Using an intuitive, heart-centered approach to therapy and healing with a strong academic and clinical background in grief and bereavement, Arlene can help you to learn how to embrace and negotiate your own unique healing journey.
When in the counselling process with people who have experienced some type of loss, I join their journey as a supportive companion to assist them in building new strengths and understanding as they experience the spectrum of emotions, behaviours and thoughts that arise on their path.
